As an MCE candidate, I need to critically analyse and evaluate the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and key guiding documents in education so that I can apply to my practice understandings of contemporary pedagogies and their implications to bicultural contexts in New Zealand education.

Critically evaluate a range of evidence, including the Articles and the Principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Identify elements of culturally competent leadership.

Consider and document how the Cultural Competencies for Teachers of Māori Learners in Tātaiako are implemented/considered in your local context? (by yourself/by your school or workplace).
Critically evaluate ‘Bicultural challenges for educational professionals in Aotearoa” (Glynn, 2015).
Evaluate the Articles as opposed to the Principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and explain the significance of these to education.
Critically evaluate the evidence and explain the role and place of Tātaiako and the Te Tiriti o Waitangi in New Zealand education.
Consider ‘How will I as an Education Leader lead the improvement of cultural competence in my context and how learners’ needs in future will be met.
